REAL ACOUSTICS: REAL DIFFERENCE

Spectre Sound was founded in 1998 by Glenn Fricker with the goal of creating high quality recordings for independent & small label music acts. An award winning graduate of Sheridan College's illustrious Media Arts program, Glenn has a passion for all things musical. Leaning towards the Hard Rock/Metal end of the spectrum, Glenn quickly gathered a reputation for outstanding productions in the heavy rock genre. Able to switch musical genres with ease, he's also worked with Country, Celtic, & Blues acts to much critical acclaim.

In 2003, Spectre Sound underwent a paradigm shift with the construction of a new facility. Located a short driving distance from the Windsor/Detroit border, Spectre's new studio is unique among local project studios as it features a Reflection Free Zone control/mix room. Constructed using tried and true acoustic principles, this new facility translates mixes into the real world seamlessly. This was evidenced by Spectre producing Unrestrained! Magazine's "Best album of 2004."

Powered by the ultra cutting-edge SawStudio multitrack software, Spectre includes a world-class gear list from the likes of Great River, Empirical Labs, Vintech Audio, RME, Ward Beck, Apogee and KRK.

Clients include underground metal heavyweights Betrayer, Bloodshoteye, & Aven Aura, as well as traditionalists such as Celtic Cross & Regael. Randy Blythe from Lamb of God has made an appearance as well. Travelling for the chance to record at Spectre is also quite common. Toronto acts regularly make the trip down the 401, and we've even had an artists fly in from Washington DC & Stockholm, Sweden!

Michigan artists should also take note that Spectre offers a very competitve exchange rate on the U.S. Dollar. Within close proximity of the border, Spectre makes an excellent choice for anyone looking to make a high quality recording.

Glenn Fricker - Owner / Engineer, Spectre Sound

"At the end of the day, all I care about is what comes out of the speakers." Says Glenn, Spectre's engineer. A native of Hamilton, Ontario, Glenn moved to the Windsor area in 1984. In 1989 he attended Oakville's Sheridan College for a three year tour of duty in the world renowned Media Arts program. Studying audio production, film and video, Glenn recieved several awards including 1991's "Multimedia Production of the Year" as well as a nomination for "Graduate of the Year" from Sheridan's Media faculty in 1992. It was during his time at Sheridan, while spending many, many hours in front of a 2 inch Studer multitrack, Glenn's love for recording heavy rock developed into a full-blown obsession.
